OUTRAGED AND FED UP

Well, I guess by now some of you already know that Etsy has closed my shop, Cookalas House Of Cards, citing that they received a complaint from REACT (here we go again, read here) for violating Pandora copyright, even though it's a blatant lie on the part of REACT.

What is it with these people?  Not one of my listings has the word Pandora in either the title or the description!!!!!! Grrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I can't begin to tell you how totally disgusted and angry I am.

I've spoken with Etsy Admin and they told me if I can get REACT to withdraw the complaint (yeah, like that's gonna happen) then Etsy "may" review my account and their decision.  What a load of crap.  Meanwhile, just go to Etsy and google "Pandora" and see how many listings come up that actually are violating copyright - there are probably over a hundred shops with titles and descriptions that have "Pandora style" or "fits Pandora" or Pandora inspired" or some other variation - AND BOTH REACT AND ETSY ARE ALLOWING THIS.

So why are they singling out other shops - I know of other shops who have had the same thing happen to them.  Who the hell do they think they are to take away people's livelihoods without so much as a second thought.  I hope all of these people burn in hell come judgement day.

Thank God I opened my Artfire shop before this happened and copied over all my active listings. However, I did lose about 700 deactivated listingsthat will have to be re-created. *SIGH* It's gong to be to much extra work for me.  And it seems very coincidental, too, that Etsy closed my shop just 2 weeks after I opened one on Artfire.  Meanwhile, my bills need to be paid and I haven't had a sale in over a week now.  I don't know what I'm gong to do.  I guess I will have to go on a starvation diet.

I have been emailing you, my customers, to let you  know about this situation and every single one of your responses so far says you're pissed off at Etsy, too. I can't tell you how much your support means and helps at a time like this.  I hope every single one of you will also consider voluntarily boycotting Etsy and shop elsewhere from now on - it's the only way to send Etsy a message that they are unfair in  the application of their policies and that they also play favorites.  And this is widespread - I hear far too many stories of sellers on Etsy who are misrepresenting what they sell as either handmade or vintage items that are neither.  All I can say is BEWARE of what you purchase on Etsy - do read through the sellers feedback profile and shop policies before you buy.

So, at this point I have little hope of being able to re-open on Etsy, but maybe that's a blessing in disguise.  I am hoping and praying you all will follow me to Artfire - I have about 270 items listed so far, but I am editing and adding more each day.  One thing that's great for me at Artfire is that I now have a commercial account - which means I can buy and re-sell handmade items for a few dollars profit like leather watches, shamballa style bracelets and upscale leather bracelets.  So, you will have a wider variety to choose from. So please, come shop with me on Artfire at http://egrobeck.artfire.com  or go to Artfire and search for egrobeck in shops (my shop name there is egrobeck).
